About the company
the <wit> project was founded in 2019 by two young Latinas with untraditional tech backgrounds who were troubled by the limited access they experienced as they embarked on their careers as software engineers. In navigating these difficulties, they realized that community was the most effective way to stay committed, celebrate authenticity, and most of all, create a sense of belonging for themselves and other women in this field.
Our community at the <wit> project embraces individuals underserved in the tech industry and empowers them to unleash their potential by becoming leaders in social change.
About the role
We are looking for a social media guru that will work with our growing team. You'll be working directly with our Marketing Director to help the <wit> project to increase our social media footprint. In this role, you will have the opportunity to exercise your creativity and create social media posts across multiple channels and mediums. The time commitment is less than 5 hours a week.
Note: This is a volunteer opportunity.
You will
- Create highly engaging stories, posts, campaigns across platforms. (Instagram, LinkedIn, blog, etc.)
- Work with our marketing director to come up with new approaches to increase engagement and feed visibility
- Manage the social schedule; liaise with team members to implement marketing calendar
- Engage with audience on various social media platforms (comment, like, announcements, etc.)
You are
- Deep knowledge of Instagram, Twitter: You are a lover of all things social media and have an extensive presence either on your own feed or a feed you’ve worked on.
- Collaborative: You love to brainstorm and work with others, whether you are 1-1 with an art director or rolling your sleeves up with the team, you do your part to contribute to the creation of a killer execution.
- Detailed Oriented: You are able to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining attention to detail with each project.
- A self-starter: always curious and excited to learn with one finger to the pulse of the latest trends in advertising and media.
